Sire Nocona ®
1980 blue roan Nokota Mustang stallion. Nocona was captured and sold by the National Park Service in 1986, when he was six years old. At that time he was the second most dominant stallion in the park, and controlled a harem band of 12 mares. Both he and the senior dominant stallion were from an exceptionally strong and dominant line of blue roan horses. This large-boned type of horse was used for riding, pulling, logging, packing, and rodeo stock and were much evidence as all-around horses on regional ranches and Indian reservations. Nocona’s get include some of the most successfully developed “Ranch type” Nokota horses now in use. Batman is one of his offspring.
